How live transcription works

Capture the conversation. Translate it when needed.

CliniScripts live medical transcription converts spoken clinical conversations into a readable transcript while the session is taking place. When translation is enabled, the transcript can also be displayed in the selected language.

Therapists can choose whether the session is multilingual, turn live translation on or off, and select the required language before starting the session. The transcript can then be reviewed and used to generate structured clinical documentation.

Enable transcription before the session

Configure the session settings before recording begins.

Select live translation only when required

Translation remains optional for multilingual clinical conversations.

Choose the translated language

Select the language that should appear alongside the original transcript.

Use the transcript to create clinical notes

Questions about live transcription and translation

Learn how CliniScripts captures multilingual clinical conversations, translates transcripts, supports clinical documentation, and keeps clinicians in control of the final record.

What is live medical transcription?

Live medical transcription converts spoken clinical conversations into readable text while the session is taking place. CliniScripts creates a session transcript that can later be reviewed and used to generate structured clinical notes.

Can CliniScripts translate a session transcript?

Yes. Translation can be enabled before starting the session. The clinician selects the required language, and CliniScripts displays translated text alongside the original transcript.

Is live translation optional?

Yes. Live translation can be turned on only when needed. A clinician can use live transcription without enabling translation.

Can the session include more than one spoken language?

Yes. A multilingual session option can be enabled before recording begins when the conversation may include more than one language.

Which languages does CliniScripts support?

CliniScripts supports more than 70 languages across its transcription and multilingual documentation workflows. Available language options may vary by feature and configuration.

Can the transcript be used to create clinical notes?

Yes. After reviewing the transcript, clinicians can use it to generate SOAP, DAP, BIRP, ABA, progress, or custom clinical notes.

Does CliniScripts separate therapist and client speech?

CliniScripts can structure the transcript by speaker to make the conversation easier to review. Clinicians should still verify speaker labels before using the transcript for documentation.

Is patient consent required before recording?

Clinics should obtain any consent required by applicable laws, professional standards, and internal policies before recording or transcribing a clinical session. CliniScripts includes a consent confirmation step before the session begins.

Is the translated transcript automatically added to the clinical record?

No. The transcript and translation should be reviewed before being used for documentation. The clinician remains responsible for confirming accuracy, context, and clinical meaning.

Does live translation replace a professional interpreter?

No. Translation can support communication and documentation, but it should not replace a qualified interpreter when professional interpretation is clinically or legally required.

Is CliniScripts suitable for Canadian therapy clinics?

CliniScripts is designed to support Canadian clinical workflows, including PHIPA- and PIPEDA-aware privacy practices. Compliance also depends on how the clinic configures and uses the software.

Who can use live transcription and translation?

The feature can support mental health therapists, ABA clinics, psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, pediatric therapy providers, and multidisciplinary care teams.
